Basic Shapes
Introduction
Hey kids! Today we will be learning about shapes! Shapes are everywhere in the world, and are the basic components about a study in math called "Geometry". Today we will learn about what some basic shapes look like and their names!
Square
A square looks like this:
It is a shape with 4 sides, and each side is the same length. Some square shaped objects in the real world are post it notes, bread, the Microsoft logo (ask your parents if you don't know what this is), and many more!
Rectangle
A rectangle looks like this:
It is a shape with 4 sides, but not all the sides are equal. Some rectangles in our lives are phones, windows, pictures, and many more!
Triangle
This is what a triangle looks like:
Triangles are shapes with 3 sides. You use triangles everyday. Some triangles are pizza, chips, and pyramids!
Circle
This is what a circle looks like
It is a shape that is completely round. Some circles in our life are yo-yos, doughnuts, and disks.
